A-bolt, where did you find the peas?? I've been checking around and can't find them anywhere. Do you have to buy in bulk or bags.

D&L Feed in Aubrey has corn $6.50/50 lbs. They also have
peas but don't know the price of peas.

Try Mckinney Grain and Feeds. Buy it in bulk and bag it yourself. Most people don't want to mess with that way, but it can save money. I get there sack that weighs 2,000 pounds mixed with soybeans, wheat, oats and corn. Put it in 55 gallon barrels and fill protein feeders, make piles, and you can put it in a feeder too if you want. Deer, turkey, quail and hogs love it. But, if the cows find it, you better have a good feeder pen folks, because they will stop at nothing to get it.

We buy bulk corn for $4 / 100#'s. I believe it is out of Goldthwaite. I just know one of our lease members picks up a hopper with 2.5 tons on Friday and drops it back off on Sunday.

I paid a $190 for 1,400 lbs, but you can buy as much as you want from them in bulk. Which comes out to about $6.75 a bag for a 50lb sack. The mix is the way to go, lots of protein and you know how much deer love wheat, soybeans, oats and corn. Most special mixes that you buy in a bag are freaking high for a 50lb sack! One guy was asking $20 a bag at his feed store. I was like are you crazy? lol

I bought corn at my local store in Denton today. Had been $6.60, but went to $9.80/bag, 50 lbs!!!! That's a 50% jump. Called all around Denton, same price. Better get it while you can.
One Academy was out till they get more in. Another Academy has it
for $4.89/40 lbs. I'm going today to get about 20-25 bags.

Indian corn is 5.99 for 50# in Only.

Cheer up, someday hunting over feed will probably be illegal. The real problem is what corn prices are going to do to beef, pork and poultry prices.
