and I cant decide! I have 2 options for sure a ruger lcp or the kel tec double stack 9mm. I am also going to the gun show but really for the money I want to spend those are my options.

Now debate!

lol no really, I am leaning twords the ruger because of the kel tecs I have shot before I have had issues, but I dont have any range time with the lcp.

I dont want to hear arguments of 380 vs 9mm or the round capacity. If I cant handle the situation with 7 rounds of anything Im running! I;m more interested in issues owners of these guns have had what carry techniques you used things like that.

Between the 2 you listed it would be Ruger for me with out a doubt, even though I believe they are both almost identical. Check You Tube for reviews also.

Yep, Ruger. I'm picking one up today (hopefully).

I picked up a Keltec P11 about a month ago and got rid of it last week, good gun, but the trigger pull wasnt to my liking. They seem to need a box or 2 of shells thru them before they function reliably.

Up for the Ruger. I have a 2 tone LCP I carry in my dress slacks everyday. Great gun.

I'm at the same crossroads and was planning on picking up the LCP, but then saw a TV show on the outdoor channel the other day and S&W has their new .380 auto with integrated laser sight out now and they guys on the show loved it. Trying to find out more info on the bodyguard in .380 now. You may want to check it out also. Not sure if they are being sold yet or not as I haven't looked real hard yet.

I doubt it will beat the LCP.

Ruger all the way. I love my LCP in the summer and quick trips to the store.

Value and Function. I saw the ad you were referring to, and then looked it up. I think the biggest drawback is the laser control. When it comes time to use it, are you going to have the ability to push the button? I also was looking to see how the batteries are replaced, but no mention of that on the site. The LCP is so simplistic and smooth as far as concealing. It will be interesting to see what the bodyguard is like when in our hands though. Its hard to tell when all we have is a picture to go by.

You are thinking the exact same thing I was when I saw how you had to turn on the laser. It won't work if you have to one hand it very well. I'm still leaning toward the LCP but want to look at all my options and thought the op probably did as well. Thanks

Ya, when I saw the shot show clip, I could not believe all the R&D they put into it, then put a switch up in the front of the gun. I'll bet it will get changed to a pressure switch soon.

thanks guys I do like the body guards and the Taurus mini 1911 but they are bot a little out of my price range. I have a local guy i deal with who has a brand new lcp with 2 mags im gonna pick up for 225 and getting the crimson trace for it within the next week also.

now as far as carry im not a big fan of pocket holsters I like it to be on my belt does anyone make a pda pouch style holster for the lcp? or any other recommendations?

I carry a keltec pf9 and a p32 in a desantis sof-tuck IWB holster (different sizes) and really like the adjustable clip. Carried the 32 with a tucked in shirt over the holidays and pretty well forgot it was there. There are some pda types as well, check bulldog holsters.

And i think you will like your LCP, plus when the LC9 comes out you can get it as the bigger brother.

I have a belt clip on mine. Makes it easy to just throw in my pocket. They have wallet holsters for the lcp that print like a wallet and can be fired from without removing it from the holster

If I could get a LCP for $225 it would be in my pocket now.

I have had both and you cant go wrong either way. The ruger is a little smaller and I find it a littler harder to aim acurately and it took a little getting used to. Both have a really long trigger.

The Ruger has a long trigger because it is double action. This was a plus for me and help me make up my mind to go with an LCP.

the ruger lcp and keltec p3at have almost identical triggers
the lc9 is a copy of the keltec pf11 just with a better finish. both will be good guns. pick which ever one you can get the better deal on is really all it comes down to. kel-tecs warranty and customer service is better though.

Get a Ruger LCP or Kel-tec P3AT. You won't regret it. Spend another $150 and put a Crimson Trace on it later when you are confident in the pistol. You can get one for $300 OTD if you look around. This is such a nice, small carry package that you will carry it often. Doublestack 9's are small but no where near the ease of conceal-ability of the LCP/P3AT.

The other route is the S&W Bodyguard .380. It comes with the laser. Very nice little pocket pistol. You can get one for $450-500 if you look around and it already has a laser.
