What will you be hunting? Hogs? Coyotes?

What kind of weapon? AR15 with rails? Traditional bolt rifle?

What range shots are most likely? Under 50 yds? Over 100 yds?

What terrain?

Do you have a regular weapon light? does it have a red lense?

Does your current scope pickup light well at night? I have a mid range Vortex Viper 2x7 x32 on my AR15 and I believe I can see 'well' considering it is in the dark and then I turn my olight warrior premium on and can start to see better. Black scope hairs and I have 20/20 eyesight.

I have been hunting varmits and hogs using a traditional bold rifle with a scope and a spotlight with a red cover or just the scope on a clear night with good moon light. I hunt both in S. Texas and the pines of east Texas. I don't remember ever having to shoot over 100 yds at night.

I just wanted to see what other hunters are doing to avoid having to spend high $ for a night vision scope . Somethig that wont spook them. I was a pic on the forum that had some type of momo un front of the scope, but could not send a PM to ask and latter could not find the post.
