I live in leon springs tx right on the border of San Antonio and Boerne... recently feral hogs have begun invading what bit of nature we have left here in this historic town.
Im frustrated as theyre scaring away all the deer and destroying landscaping.Recently i was fishing the creek and a mother charged at me out of nowhere.Luckily i got away unharmed. Anyways what id like to know is if there any legal ways of dealing with this? confused2 Or illegal... Just kidding ;D

I wanted to invent an engine that could run for ever. I could have developed a new train, had I stayed in the railway. It would have looked like the AK-47 though.

Kill them, stab them, shank them, stab them with a flimsy metal spoon, pretty much whatever you wanna do is legal, unless there inside city limits and ordancies apply

What I wouldn't do is be the 'new guy' asking about how to get away with illegal stuff. If you found your way to this site, then you can find your way to TPWD's site and find out how to do it legally.

Crossbow....or let the city deal with it if they won't let you. They are pretty bad here in Katy around George Bush park....but they won't let you hunt them or anything. So more and more wrecks have occured along westeimer due to the overpopulated hogs. They trap some....but I see wrecks all the time. Let some bowhunters go in there and thin the house!

I live 5 minutes north of leon springs. I haven't seen any sign of hogs there other than one road kill, but I heard the Dominion Golf Course right there across the creek is having hog issues. (Dominion = George Strait, David Robinson, etc) I heard they were looking at control measures. I bet they are trapping.

With all the serious money players living right there, don't kid yourself about a 30 minute response time to a gunshot. More like 3 minutes.

Contact the Texas Wildlife Services, formerly called the Texas Animal Damage Control Service, (210) 472-5451, HQ is in San Antonio. They're the agency to contact with such issues within the city limits as well as out in the county for assistance.
