Got back yesterday. Been hunting since Monday morning. 4 of us on 520 acs. One doe was seen early Monday morning and one large bodied deer see right at dark Monday evening in the brush couldn't tell what it was. No pics on cameras and corn still on the ground. The boys did get a couple of wood ducks yesterday morning off the tanks though.

I may just go home and get up and go early tomorrow then. I've been disappointed this year but it's been better than last year. I've seen more deer just not enough to make me happy. And no pigs. I like pigs.

We have seen and killed one pig in daylight hours. Had a group of about 6 feeding at night at three feeders. After the second weekend of October we quit seeing deer pics even at night. Really the worst year we have had in the 8 we have been there.

Stayed in a stand all day yesterday didn't see zilch. Checked the game cam chip from our best feeder/blind and a spike and doe had shown up during daylight hours Dec. 25 and 27. First daylight pictures since late Oct.

Just got back from the lease. Did not see a deer. Lots of Turkeys,This was my first year in Young. I hope to go back to Baylor where I used to hunt for 2011.It's on the river and I miss that.

I haven't seen anything on cam or otherwise in North east young county since Thanksgiving and only one buck and a couple of doe since the middle of Oct. Prior to that I had deer on cam daily. I may have to check my hunting deodorant to make sure it hasn't been spiked with scent by my wife.

Nothing. Feeder battery was dead too. Oh well. It was too cold to be skinning and quartering anyhow.

Got a call from one of my buddys on the lease yesterday and he got a 13 pt with a broke brow tine saturday evening. He was just leagal spread but was real high with lots of kickers he said he was very large and old. He got him out of my stand close to the river. Waiting on picks!! Also, another hunter's son shot his first deer a doe! Going out next weekend to try and get a doe or a an old buck that a young hunter missed earlier he has one spike and 5 on other side.

The late general season in Young county is antlerless and spike only.
Spike meaning no antler having more than 1 point.

Hunted a lot off of Reeves Road and Miller Bend. We killed one decent buck this year but the movement was about the worse we've seen in years. I even hunted this past wknd in 12 degrees and only saw two doe. Hunted till almost noon that morning on top of that. Very disappointing this year to say the least, but we did get one buck. To me; if we're just seeing some deer; It's a success regardless of kills, but this year I wouldn't consider as a success.
