I may have an opportunity to lease 1920 acres with 3 miles of red river frontage. I am kind of excited about this.

Some great deer in that area. I hunt south of Gray in Donley county and it is great hunting as well. I jump on that if the price is right.

That one came off of a 15000 private ranch but it shows what kind of genetics are in the area. My oldest son and I are looking for a place too so like the others said if you need guns give me a shout.

Pretty sure this is a gray county buck. Yep, killed Southeast of Pampa, if my info was correct.

As much work as it is to move all our stuff, I think it would be worth it.

yea i would leave aspermont for gray county too as long as there is enough brush and thicket leading off the river into some open areas(food plots if you want to do it right first year). sure you could pay a local farmer to plant a couple acres for you if you were really gungho about it.

Head north!!!!
Use to go through there a lot going from elk city to our ranch in boise city..... put it this way..I would move back to the panhandle if I had gray country deer....
Just know that its A- its very cold and B- you want to keep it a min of 1 hunter to every 1k acres or more. Your deer numbers are a lot lower but WT weight 220 plus up there

I know it is colder, but that is the way we like it. From what I am hearing the population has exploded up there. The QDMA says there are more deer in that county and the large ranch across the road(40000 acres) was issued 600 extra doe permits. We will be looking in to planting food plots.

The overall perception about the panhandle is that deer numbers are lower, but that all just depends on your area. Deer numbers on our lease in Donley County are higher than any other place I have hunted, and that includes places out west towards San Angelo where deer numbers are extremely high.

I wouldn't have to shoot so many if they were bigger.
