Was down visiting my dad today about an hour east of Dallas. He's often telling me about my niece's husband killing a deer, and always killing pigs. See my niece today and ask her did she know where the big deer was killed by the game warden last year. She said, 'Yeah, just down the road from our place. He's the one that told my husband where to hunt." Said her husband had also killed a BIG deer in same area. My mouth is watering. I nicely suggested it would be nice to invite me hunting next season!

That's some buck that Apollo Creed shot. Good luck on the invite.

That is a big deer. What I call a deer of a lifetime. I dream of that moment happening to me. One day maybe.

I heard that story last year. What I heard was that a family had been leasing the place for farming rights for a really long time and there was no hunting in all that time. About 50 years. Don't want to speak bad about someone I don't know, but the story as it was told to me was that the GW knew about the deer, and convinced land owner to lease it to him when the other lease was up. Like I said, I don't know the GW, and this story was told to me by one of my subcontractors who lives in Kaufman Co. Story said that it put the familiy out of business. If it is true it's a pretty sorry deal. Hopefully it was exagerated a few times before it got to me.
