I've got free access to a couple of plowed fields that are 300-600 yards long about 5 miles East of Farmersville near 380 if that's close enough for ya'll.

It looks like we might be able to shoot up to almost 2k if we do it right. I just need to give a decent amount of notice to the land owners if it's a place ya'll want to use.

It is a ways out but have access to a range with benches at 100 and one bench at 200 and 300 each. Might could do a day trip for a small group to shoot. Cost would be getting there and back. If the guys on the lease are ok with it could add in s hog hunt. Would have to check with them but will probally be ok.

I won't have time for this until Feb or March.

The results would still not be accurate. How many guys will be shooting a factory Remington VS. a factory Savage?
Would be interesting though to see it take a $2000 custom 700 to shoot the same as a $350 Savage.

You are correct, it is Gibsons & they are rude. It sucks too becuase my fire station is only 5 min or so from there.
Nice range there at Gibsons, they seem to be rude to the folks that dont listen. They old lady and Man are pretty nice actually. If you dont know how to clear the gun and step behind the line, and stay until the ranged is cleared, they will quickly get on the horn and call you out. I believe they had problems when the son was running the place.

Dont know why the results wouldnt be accurate ? If your $5 gun shoots better than my $5k gun isnt the $5 one still the more accurate of teh two ? scratch

I could be mistaken but I was kind of under the impression this was for fun not solving world hunger... hammer

I really like the idea of only getting one shot, makes it alot better. Would be even better if the first shot was a cold bore shot.

I have a 500 yard range I built on my land in Hopkins county. Someone can join me in a couple weeks and give it a whirl. Already have 200 yard line marked.

My guess is this was spawn from the numerous posts lately comparing the two models, and out of the box accuracy. SO if this was to settle that dispute and the Savage guys showed up with a true out of the box and Scott shows up with one of his Kampfeld's it is far from accurate.

I could be mistaken and this not have anything to do with the threads over the past couple of weeks. As heartless as I may sound, I personally dont give a rats [censored] about hunger outside of our borders....

I think firearm/condition information should be included with all entries.

This is just for fun, you can shoot what ever ya want to. I'll be shooting a Steyr, maybe a LR308.

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

So I can shoot my Browning? I know it's not a Savage or a Remington but it was all I could afford at the time wink
