ok so i shot a nice Woodie drake today and while i was looking at him i notsed lump in his throat and i forced it out .... it was a pecan i was like what the heck?? i have never seen or heard of this then i felt by his stomach and wouldn't you now he had a belly... is this rare or rare?

From the stand I sometimes watch wood ducks for hours while I am deer hunting. They prefer Acorns, but at my lease when the pecans are falling I watch them swim circles under the overhanging native pecan trees waiting for the next one to fall and then race each other to every pecan that falls in the water. They gorge themselves on them.

I've killed both wood ducks and mallards that were so full if acorns that you could squeeze their necks and acorns would pop out
