About to buy a new scope with Christmas $$$. Looking to spend around $300. Found some online at opticsplanet and overstock. Narrowed my choices to 3:
Redfield Revolution 4-12x40 Leupold VX-II 3-9x40 Bushnell Elite 4200 3-9x40
Going on a .270. Would like to know opinions of those who know about these scopes, preferably if you have used them. Thanks.

Thanks, I will check them out. May add it to the list, but would like some input on them before hand.

Havent tried their scopes out yet but have one of their razor binos. Best glass for the price imo. Got a super deal from a guy over on the bowhunting forum.

I've got the Redfield 3-9x40 on my 30-30 and I like it. Clear as a bell. I've got a Ziess Conquest 3-9x40 on my .270 and that's some really good glass.

Of the three, go with the Bushnell Elite 4200. Excellent glass and coatings. Glass is made by Bausch & Lomb. Check out www.natchezss.com for a good deal also. I have heard good stuff about the Redfield glass as well, but the adjustments for the Bushnell is better quality than the Redfield. Also, the Bushnell Rainguard coating is great for repelling fog and raindrops.

I've run a couple Elites over the years and they seem pretty tough too.
