I have been looking for a .223 bolt action. I had a Model 788 for that I loved, but got rid of it years back when I didnt have a place to shoot and needed some cash.

It is listed as a Mauser action, made in Serbia and was carried from '06 thru '08. But there seems to be plenty around new in the box.

Anyone have one, or experience with one?

If going 223 in a Mini Mauser type action I would go with the CZ 527. If nothing else you will learn to love the set trigger.
