Anyone use these feeders? Any pros or cons? Do you have any problems w/ clogging? Need to buy a protein feeder asap. Know of any good deals near SA or Houston?

I have three of them and they work great. I use All Season for everything. To me they have the best quality built stuff out in the market but that is just opinion. I have two 1000lbs and one that is a ton demand feeder. I like them also for the extended tubes so the bucks do not hit their horns while feeding which helps during velvet process.

What is a demand feeder? I assumed this one was a free feed?? Don't know much about the protein yet, but will know alot by next year at this time!
I've decided on the extended tubes also. Think they would feed more at ease if they didn't have to eat from underneath the hopper also.

A month the first one clogged, from the moisture, we siliconed the little windows and no issues since, they delivered em to us from down around San Antonio so we didn't bother just fixed problem and rolled on, no issues since

Yeah we feed at certain times or the muledeer will stand there and eat all day and night and can empty a gravity feeder in a few days

During season we mixed protein corn and golden nuggets and filled tubes with no issues which was mice to be able to mix feeds in it as well.

So, I probably should look into a demand feeder.
Do you keep it running year-round and dispense the protein at the same time you corn feed? Was thinking about stopping the protein for a couple months so I could hunt the deer and start it back up after the season. What do you do?

Would think they wouldn't come to it if they got shot at there. Reason for shutting the protein down to hunt them at the corn feeders.

Where did you get one for 689.00? I fed a mix in my spinners all yr but as has been identified the protein will swell and clog the spinner so I want to go to demand tube type for this spring. Thanks

Thanks Local blind/ feeder store has them listed at that on their website. Think the regular one w/o the extensions is $589. What does demand feed mean? It is a different term for free feeding? Meaning that the protein is there for them whenever they want it? What kind of protein are you using? Have read a few of them resist moisture. Wondering if your spinner gap was the problem or the protein isn't as resistant as they claim it is? Have also wondered if the plastic hopper is better than the metal for moisture also?

Call Bar None Country Store and speak to Mike, the owner, and ask him what his price is on them. I think he is in the 575 range and that is with the extended tubes I think..... Bar None is right outside of Waco towards McGregor on HWY 84.......
A demand feeder provides feed for the deer at all times. I caught a hog eating out of one at my ranch....have pics of it..... I feed soybean/corn mix during part of the year and Purina makes a raingard pellet that I use also sometimes.
GREAT FEEDERS and they will last a life time. Only thing I had to do one time is to seal around the window that lets you see how much feed is in the hopper. Over time it comes unsealed.

$549 for a regular 1k lb All Season protein feeder at Mummies. Don't have the extended tubes.
Do y'all think it better w/ or w/o the extensions and why?
