Thoughts?
Would like to use for home defense and occasional industry pistol shoots.
Probably leaning to either a .40 or .45 in one of those 2 models. Any of you guys shoot these? Any good/bad things you've heard?

I lean more toward the Springfield XD in .45, only because I've handled and shot one. They are comfortable and I got pretty good with it in a short amount of time. Have to admit I've never handled or shot the PX4, though.

Just an FYI...The XDm can hold 19+1 in the 3.8 & 4.5 lengths. If you buy before 12/31 you get an additional 3 19rd mags and an extra mag pouch on top of the 2 mags and all the other gear that come with the gun. That is a total of 95rds in 5 mags, that is INCREDIBLE!
$575, brand new in the box, out the door with 5 mags, 2 mag pouches, holster, and the gun with adjustable back strap's to fit your hand. Yep, I will be ordering one tomorrow from Dallas Shooting Supply.

Figures...and this is the one time I don't have the cash to do it. Otherwise, I'd be all over that deal.

I've never tried the PX4 but I love my XDM. Ultra reliable, never had a feeding malfunction. Bought the magzine extensions - 19 rounds of 40 cal is a fistful of firepower. Trigger is smooth and has a reasonable pull weight that assists accurate shooting.

I use to own a PX4 and that gun does not like certain ammo. Mainly cheapo ammo that I use just for target shooting. It would jam and double feed like crazy! I have a XD .40 now and it runs any kind of ammo i put through it. I have not cleaned the gun since i bought it, and it has 500+ rounds through it so far with no malfunction. So XDM is my vote between the 2.
