Normally those guys do fairly well with their gun myths...

I had to miss church this morning because my wife is having some really bad morning sickness and didn't want me to leave the house, so I'm sitting here watching reruns of Mythbusters. They're doing the one where they see if a ninja can deflect a bullet with his bare hand. So they have their robot set up and they're shooting a Sig 229 from a Ransom rest. The Ransom rest is sitting on top of a wobbly little wooden table, and they're wondering why they can't get the weapon to group at 20 yards...

Then, they say that the slowest 9mm round they could find was 1250 fps. Really? They were loading the Sig with freakin CORBON rounds- not noted for their slowness!!! How bout some 147 grainers rolling at about 850-900?

Sheesh folks, I expected better than that...

Haha yeah I agree with you, they are usually pretty solid but sometimes they aren't even close!

I saw one the other day where they said you couldn't shoot through a scope with a .308 but I saw the same test on another show were they couldn't do with a newer scope but they shot a scope from the 60s and it went right through and blew the dummies head apart

Just goes to show that the "expert" they use from the SFPD doesn't know squat about guns and ballistics. There are several obvious issues that virtually anyone who knows about shooting could point out to them when they do their segments.

Overall, I like them. The one where they hung up the pig and shot it with all kinds of different guns to see if they could blow him off the hook, Hollywood style, was fun.
