We have a great lease north of Brownwood. The owner and his wife are great people. However, one of his daughters is a real b%*^h. She and her boy friend have come to camp wanting to know where we are going to hunt because they are hunting too. We were told there would be no family on the place while we are there and not any info on the boyfriend. We have lots of evidence that he has been there many times, especially right after we leave or just before we get there. We have lots of pictures of him on the cameras and around the feeders. He also has spit chew into full water bottles we have in the stands, we have found beer bottle caps in the stands. I have also found rifle shells in at least two of the stands, and evidence of at least two kills. One evening, both of hem were walking to a stand at 4:00PM, I made sure they saw me and they never even stopped until they noticed the atv in the trees. We spend good money servicing the feeders, keeping the lease in good shape and healthy deer.I even shot a 140" 10 point this year. What would you do or say, especially in the case of the boyfriend? I probably left some details out, so I can answer questions if needed.

Just say what's on your mind to the landowner. He'll either take care of the problem or he won't, at which point you'll know your options (accept it or leave).

I wouldn't say anything to them. I would take the pictures and problem to the land owner. If they are good people and told you no family would be hunting, chances are, they don't know.

Just my two cents worth.

Put locks on your box stands and tell the landowner it's to keep out neighbors who you fear are jumping the fence and hunting them. The only time a key to any lock is available is when the hunter who owns the stand is there to hunt it.

I have a very similar situation with a small tract that I hunt in East Texas. The problem was easily solved by taking away the honey. Now I only hunt from ground blinds and small ladder stands and didn't plant any food plots. Still, that may not be something you and the other hunters wish to do.

What's in the contract about the land owner and or their family hunting?

Voice your concerns with the LO show him the pictures.

I would take it up with the land owner. Take the photographs for proof and tell him what is going on. If you are cordial with the land owner it will probably work out for you.

I agree. You lease the hunting rights. I always looked at it like this. Ask him what would he do if he leased a place for grazing rights for his cows and then the land owner put his own cows on it.

I had a case like this where the landowner shot a 171" out from under me. I saw the deer the second week of bow season and couldn't get a shot. Nov. 15 the landowner brought the deer to my stand and said hey look what I saw layin' under a tree with a doe. He went 171" typical 10pt. with a 25.5" inside spread. He said he didn't hunt and that he carried the rifle in his truck for yote's. Later in the season he let his grandson shoot a 168" typical ten with a g2 kicker that made the newspaper. I regret to this day not saying somethin' to him. He said when we got the lease that he didn't hunt and that turned out to be bogus so needless to say we were spending our money to hunt good deer and he was taking the money and killing the deer.

You need to go talk to the landowner and discuss what is happening and tell him that the boyfriend need's to go get his own lease or somethin'. Or ya'll could walk and he will still hunt it and the next people can deal with it. If the hunting is that good I would almost say stay but your gonna cry like I did when he roll's out with your deer.

Do you have a written contract and evidence (shell casings, pics, spit cups) to prove that he is in violation of yalls contract? Do you have a written contract? Probably not, and if you did you may or may not win in a court hearing. Whether you win or not, I'll bet you cant hunt there again if you took the matter to court or raised heck with the Land Owner. Talk to the land owner and go back to the friendly hand shake yall had, lock up your stand and continue to shoot nice bucks for years to come. No big deal, family is family even if the Farmers daughter happens to be a hoe. smile

Just thake the pic's to the land owner, and tell him/show him what is going on. I still think most people are stand up guys whem aproached the right way. Just keep your calm and tell him how much you enjoy leasing for him, but something needs to be done to rectify the problem. Good luck.

I agree with cameron00, Take the pics and go to the landowner. Tell him what you think and see what he says. Chances are, he may not know anything about it. I was in the same situation several years ago and went to the landowner, he didn't know they were hunting on the place and told them to stay away from there. It was purdy cool.

6 leases and no does for guests and this happens? rofl

If it ain't in the contract they can hunt all they want. I have never heard of so many issues though. These must be new landowners who are leasing for the first time if they don't inform you or they are trying to pull the wool over our eyes. I have always seen it written out clearly. I hunt leased property by someone else that my friend owns and lease land where the landowner doesn't hunt. We all have an understanding.

After experiencing similar problems with landowners, adjacent property neighbors, poachers, trespassers, thieves, and scum bags of various sorts - I have come to the conclusion that hunting is hard enough as it is - why complicate something we enjoy.

Money and leases will come and go - hell eventually all of us will come and go!

It is all about the memories, family, friends, traditions - both new and old, and perhaps the most significant hunting by-product is what is passed on to future and young hunters; core values, integrity, respect, patience, etc...

I believe it to be a blessing that we as hunters and anglers have the opportunity to do what we do, to see what we see... Not very many people get to hunt, fish, sit around the camp fire and crack jokes about the guy who crapped in the woods and unknowingly [censored] in his coveralls and wore them all day.

The time spent outdoors seems to grow more precious each day, I will be damned if some farmers daughter's boyfriend could ever frustrate, anger, ruin or disrupt my hunting or my time outdoors, aint worth it!

"Don't sweat the petty [censored], always pet the sweaty [censored]!"

I got a better solution. Do all the above and then show the landowner a opened condom package recovered from your stand. Guaranteed last time you atleast see the boyfriend.

PAD LOCK all of your stands so the boyfriend or any other poacher will not have an easy time hunting your hard work and effort. I don't know what landowners and family think. Yes it is their land, but it is land that is under lease. If you rent out a house that you own, you don't go inside whenever you want. That is the biggest pile of BS.

I don't see why you guys say things like this. This is a hunting forum, so what if this topic has been discussed before. He felt like ranting and people are responding to the post so all is well.

Depending on the age and looks of the girl, you could befriend her, shoot the boyfriend out of the saddle, and hunt with her. Or, go talk to the landowner and leave or just deal with it.
