Could an individual take the hog that that they have killed and sell the said meat to another individual wanting said meat? Is that legal illegal I have heard mixed reviews.

It is not considered a "game animal" like wt deer..............but what would worry me is the laws/regulations on feral hogs and disease, and the liability of that.

Its not a game animal, no laws pertaining to selling it to a friend as I have stated on other threads.

Selling it across the counter or used in a resturant would require it to have a U.S.D.A. stamp which means it must be inspected by a USDA meat inspector.

I have folks ask all the time, today in fact, that would I shoot a deer for them if they paid for it. I always tell them no but it costs money to go on hunts. I guess what you could do is charge a acquisition or expense fee.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.

Your not even suppose to transport live pigs without vet testing for diseases per Health Dept., but they aren't inforcing that.

I know non hunters that will take and want whole deer, field dressed or even just as they were shot if you are close. Past that I am not into hunting to make money, I dont try to sell the fish I catch to recoop my gas money from atrip to the lake either.

I'm just curious if it is legal for me to kill a hog and only a hog. Then turn around and sell that meat to another individual.

I wouldn't if they get sick they can always come back to you for payment of doctor visits.

o, you can’t buy (or sell) it: On Nov. 25, a Garland law enforcement clerk received a call from someone inquiring about the legality of selling deer meat. The caller forwarded the clerk an Internet posting by a man attempting to sell a deer he had at a processor in Garland. The clerk quickly forwarded the e-mail to the district supervisor, who contacted a Dallas County game warden to investigate. The game warden arrived at the processor before the exchange took place and parked in the back of the building. The game warden then identified and filed on the seller for illegal sale of white-tailed deer meat. He then had the seller wait inside until the buyers arrived and observed the purchase of the meat. The game warden then filed on the buyer for illegal purchase of white-tailed deer meat. The deer meat was seized.

I was looking at the title of the post my apologies, but from what i have found and read only parts you can "sell" off of wild game animals are bones, horns, feathers
