personally, i think they are pretty ugly, unless you get the upgraded ones (114's i think) with the nice wood stock, someone pictured it above.

the 110 combo guns look like 2x4s that someone attached an action and barrel to.
thats true, BUT they outshoot anything out of the box.

Kinda like putting a thousand dollar saddle on a hundred dollar horse. End result is you still have a hundred dollar horse.
but one that can outrun a thorough-bred

savages do shoot good....but the saying "they will outshoot anything outta the box" is a myth.

my cousin had a ugly ace model 110 in .243 that shot very well, but It's not gonna outshoot a weatherby, sako, tikka, or my remington .22-250 for that matter.

for the record, I also call b.s about stevens, marlin and mossberg bolt guns shooting 1 moa 3 shot groups too

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

all three of my savage 99's bring back memories of my grandfather and that is beautiful , but the guns are not pretty by most standards today but he saw them as tools not art , but that is how he saw everything , use it or lose it don't keep nothing just to look at .

Dang, we could have done a out of the box test. I have a Savage 22-250 with no mods and we aren't that far apart.

I have a Savage Model 12 BVSS in .308 with a Nikon Monarch on top. There is little debate over the beauty of this gun.

Who cares what it looks like? I concern myself with whether it will shoot or not. I have heard time and time again that "the proof is in the puddin" and it rings true when it comes to firearms. I will spend top dollar for HK pistols but my $300 Marlin rifles will shoot better than my dad's Remmy 700 CDL. I refuse to spend money on a gun just because that is what everyone else is doing.

I missed one of these in .22-250 for $450 earlier today and I'm sick about it.

Bet you are thinking you almost wasted $450 but you will be glad when you see the light smile
