One of my neighbors asked me to make him an offer on a Smith & Wesson Semi Auto 12ga shotgun. He has 3 barrels for it. It doesn't have a scratch on it any where. It is a beautiful gun. Anyone know anything about these guns? Pros and cons? How much should I offer? The guy is in his 90's and can't hunt any more.

S&W Model 1000. The gun doesn't like light loads, can't get away w/ buying the cheap stuff, and you'll probably need to replace a part (can't remember name) in the magazine tube that "melts" over time from cleaning solvent...not to worry though, inexpensive fix from any gunsmith. As long as you have good loads for it, it will shoot just fine.

Thanks. Any idea what I should offer him? I've been checking different sights looking for a price, but I can't find any online anywhere for sale.
