Keep a good pace with your line but don't walk so fast that you step over birds..
I really hate to do what I am about to do, because it will be very painful for you.

Stop every so often. It will get those birds that are sticking really hard to flush.

Three rules:
1. Be safe.
2. Don't shoot a hen.
3. Don't pee on yourself the first time you step on one.
Otherwise, have fun!

Stop every so often. It will get those birds that are sticking really hard to flush. there's a tip my father taught me years ago, and it works like a champ. the birds can hear you the minute you hit the field. when they realize you are running thru they will sometimes set and hope you pass them up. they get spooked when they can't figure out where your at. try some time, it does work. oh ya and the other tip, kind of funny. don't piss your britches when they flush under your feet. good stuff, we were hunting one year with my brothers friend and his dad. thank god he was several yards away, but 1st bird up scared him so much he dropped his gun. funny now, not so funny then.

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting.......holy kaka.....What a Ride!

Hope you enjoy. I know my first hunt, I froze on the first Rooster that got up. Then from then on, it was game on. Just had to get a picture in my head what a Rooster looked like in flight.

When you knock one down, run like hell to it LOL! They are one tuff bird, my buddy knocked three down saturday and all were gone before he got to them. Another buddy shot one and picked it up and carried it half way across the field and dropped it to shoot at another one, when he looked down to get it, it was gone!

I knocked down two last week from one group that flushed. Lost both.

Only sure way to anchor them to the ground is pellets in the head. I shot one and the guy next to me hit it too. It flew 1/4 mile before it towered and folded. They can be challenging to kill at times.
