I was just told the timber company is back in our lease thinning the pines. Some say this will get the deer moving others say they are moving allright just away from our lease. Is it worth hunting or not???

Hunt. The deer will adapt. On our lease, patterns will change a little, but the deer don't leave. They still have to eat and drink. Jmo

Dozer, mulched, and trackhoe work. Fencelines, senderos, tanks. Let me know if I can help with any dirtwork or construction.

Its always worth hunting IMO. Try and stay at the opposite end of the property from where they are.

I would hunt as all that activity might run something by you. Like others said adjust if needed, which is better than not hunting at all.

Hunt the morning. When we had the Arbuckle pipeline cutting our place in half a couple of years ago, I'd get all kinds of stuff pushed at me when those tractors fired up.

Take advantage of the situation.

This situation could actually help get some deer that otherwise would have been impossible.

My lease is timber land and they are usually good about not working during gun season, they do for bow season, but I think the deer get used to it!!!

I guess it depends on how much land you have... but I say if you have a chance to hunt, then hunt!

Tell you what happened at ours, Fairfield > big Brown power took us over, Came in an clear cut everything,, Deer stayed and continiously wandered around as we removed camp ,stands ect Like they didnt have any place to go, really strange to see it and went on for 3 weeekends that we hauled gear out, And moved west,

New place 98 olney old mature mesquite jungle canopy great place.2 years Then sysmic survey,30yrd wide diamond pattern helped as cuts/senderos, quail increased, Then Helo came in an sprayed all 99% kill except wesatch an few Hackberry. and fish 100% kill all mesquite bean crop, staple for deer, along with stitching in old L. cruiser top. still ok place Next year bunch from ennis "firewoods are us" ? crew cleared it all except small junk, an sold poisioned wood(epa oks) as bbq chunk? That removed 80% deer 40+ in number then no fawns for 2 years from rest,
Bucks@ quail, fishing went from excellent to pis poor, And just now are coming back,, Thats 7 years, almost ruined along with few that was hard drought,Dam broom weedwent wild So we hunt dead trees an brush now with few small mesquite deer have lost lot of size due to no bean crop. carrying capicity for herd went to hell
