I am thinking about buying some land in East Texas to hunt on. I was thinking about the Bogata/Talco area in Red River/Titus counties area, but that area has not gotten the good reviews from you guys that I was expecting. Where in East Texas would be the best place to hunt Deer, Turkey and Hogs? Your comments are appreciated.

There have been 8 deer taken off our 505ac (3 bucks 5 doe) in Upshur county this season although I would not say its a prime deer hunting area if you are comparing to other parts of Texas. We do have way too many hogs and I have seen turkey several times. We do have a Spring Turkey season but no fall season.
PIGS
I do have 3 very nice bucks on trail cam but none have been seen in the daytime.
PIGS
Most of this county like most of East Texas is heavily wooded.
PIGS
This is not a recomendation, just a overview of what I see in my area.
DID I MENTION LOTS OF PIGS!!

Look for river bottom area and Pinoaks. I hunt near the river in Wood County. Always see lots of deer and pigs.

the areas to stay away from are Nacogdoches, San Augustine, Angelina, Houston and Trinity Co....the deer population stinks and you have to trespass to find turkey...pigs are not a problem.

My family and I own 250 acres in Cass County and 285 acres in Marion County near Lake O the Pines. We always see lots of deer and the occasional hog. No monsters but some nice ones. Beautiful place to hunt. Here are some photos of my son and I with our kills.

love that highline ROW... the most fun I have hunting lately is sitting on one that we keep 3 miles of planted.

Lots of good property here in Cherokee County. We have a very short turkey season (because they are so few and far between), but there are ample hogs and deer. You can get some very reasonably priced land here compared to the rest of East TX.

I own a small place in red river county, 6 miles from Bogota. Land there is still pretty cheap and there are deer there. Here are two from my game cam this year. The dates are wrong on the pics. Dang cheap camera. Thanks!! Matt
The psycho nut bags have always been there. They just get better press now. Take away their guns, they'll use knives. Take away their knives and they'll use sticks!!

The deer in the first picture looks like he has been obducted by aliens. I'm not sure I would shoot him, he might shoot back or something worse.

I love East Texas, hunted there all my life on our family property. Here are a couple of bucks we've taken recently. Not monsters but we're proud of them.
