I learned to make beans in deer camp. We didn't worry alot about gas. My wife ate my beans one time, said they were delicious, and after that she never would touch them again. Seems she became,... how shall I put this???..Superflatulant later in the evening.
So, how do You keep the farts out of your beans??

Take three or four Beano's prior to eating any high octane grub. Keeps the wimmen, children, and pets, happy.

Soak the beans over night and then rinse them very well the next day.

Eh, I havent found that soaking them does much for us. Beans are just the musical fruit...what can we say, other than "wait, everybody listen to this one!"

Per wifey's instructions, I brought them (3 cups of anazazi..real similiar to pinto beans) to a boil, then let them soak (in place on the turned off burner) for about an hour. Poured the water off, rinsed them.

Now, comes my part: I covered with fresh water and cooked them seasoned with a pound of bacon that had been cut up and simmered with a diced onion, 1 can of Rotel tomatoes...a bit of chili powder, garlic, and seasoned salt.

Don't know that it really did anything, but the first soak sure seemed to...and she ate the heck out of them, and told me what a good job I had done. They do come out pretty bueno, and a pretty color too!

Not farting after a good meal, would be just downright disrespectful to the chef.
