So, I made it to the lease this morning after working a 48 at the hospital. I believe now more than last week that the rut is now on, I pulled into the pasture this morning to find a nice basket 8 chasing a doe. I couldn't get to the rifle quick enough and they both crossed the fence and didn't look back, but then again, they never looked at me anyway. And I pulled cards and checked the feeder, no corn on the ground and they've been hitting the feeder hard and consistently from 515pm to 6pm.

I hunted Thurs Wed evening, Thurs. and Fri morning. Saw 6 does in a bunch at 915 Fri morning 3 were running across the open field below me and jumped the fence. The other 3 older does were walking and jumped the fence into the brush before they got to me about 400 yds out. Saw one shooter buck that I couldn't tell much about except he was outside his ears and large bodied. He was standing on the mineral lick 50 yds from my feeder at noon when I went to put out my game camera before we left. I flipped the safety and put the scope on him from 200 yds out before he walked off. Saw a ton of new acorns on the ground all weekend and still some in the trees. Still no turkeys or pigd seen either. Been a very tough year so far..

Worst year ever...new acorns dropping with the wind on Saturday while in stand and lots of them still on the ground.

Our lease has been dead in Jack Co as well
Very tough year.
My feeder looks like a gold mine from 90 yards away.

It has been really tough hunting in Jack County. Don't waste your time at the feeder. We have sixteen feeders in use and enough corn on the ground to fill up the back of a Ranger. Too many acorns.

This is my first year in Jack County and I was so excited to hunt there. Obviously I have been very disappointed. This is not normal right?

On one hand I'm glad I'm not the only one but on the other it's still driving me nuts. They have started using the food plots a little but there's still to many acorns on the ground, it looks like it's been snowing under my feeders. This is my 2d season here and last year was awesome this year, not so much.

Jack Co. has been absolutely brutal. I have spent over 20 days in the field, all over the lease, in stands, not in stands, you name it. Deer moving in the deep woods at dark only. Not seeing any bucks, covered up with yearling does, and have decided to save the gas until after Christmas. Worst year ever, but it beats working.

Toughest I have ever seen too. I am on the Parker/ Jack Cty line. Can't walk to the stand without crunching every step. I took my feeder down and moved it to a pond and am now hunting hogs for the rest of season. I actually had a young 6 point walk through my corn pile under the feeder and keep walking to a big oak to eat acorns. Seeing a sheetload of pigs though! So far we have killed 12.

I also hunt on the Parker/Jack County line. You must be close because the counties only partially touch. I'm off DPS Tower Road and Broken Road. How about you.
