About how much does a gunsmith charge to replace a trigger? Winchester 70 if it matters and what brands do you guys like? Thanks

Are you talking about installing a trigger or adjusting it? If it's installing a new one I got quoted $70 for the install. That price was almost as much as the trigger so I installed it myself

Well I guess if they could adjust it so it didn't suck by having a 1/4" of play, then adjust it. But I know the Jewell triggers are $300 and the Rifle Basix are $100, just kinda scared about messing with the most important part of the gun. I guess I should just take it to Drury's or Nagels and let them do it.

I installed a Rifle Basix on mine, it was for a Savage and was pretty straight forward. RB has great customer service and Clay will definitely help you out over the phone if you need help. Haven't tried a Jewel, heard great things but it was out of my price range, no regrets on buying a RB, it's crisp and very light.

If you do have it installed I would go to Dury's. The customer service is so much better there.

I installed a timney on my win70. pretty easy install, wouldn't pay a gunsmith to do it.

Thanks guys for the responses! I figured there was more to it, so it's pretty much drop in. Thanks for the offer Brandon but I'm about 5 hours away. What is the best place to order the Timney or Rifle Basix from? The only place I could find one was at Midways website. Tried "Cheaper then Dirt & Brownells", none shown.

What poundage do y'all get on these aftermarket triggers? I like the look of the tactical trigger but it only comes in 4-10 ounces

I orderedmy Timney straight from the factory where I know the exact poundage and its already adjusted. I would order it no more than 2 lbs. I want to replace all my triggers after getting one.

My bolt guns are set at 1.5lbs and my AR is a single stage set at 3lbs.
