I wanted to get some feedback from everyone. I am sure I am not the only one that feels this way but I have a really nervous feeling about joining a lease without really knowing anyone else. I have three boys and want to show them the right way to act, hunt and conduct themselves but you never know what kind of people you are going to end up with. I can just imagine joining a lease and having less than stellar lease mates. WHats your thoughts?

Find a small piece of land you can lease by yourself. It could take years to find a good place and your kids may be half grown by then. I do not want to deal with the drama of a lease. I hope to own a small tract soon and hope the drama is not too bad. Good luck.

My brother-in-law and I got on a lease with 11 others we didn't know this year...Actually works our great. We've got to meet different people and learn how others do it. Heck, half of 'em are from Finland! Pretty fun though, they gotta get out there and mix it up with different people sometimes

Joined a lease this year I knew none of the people on and it has been great. Made new friends and don't see myself leaving anytime soon. It is always worth a try and if you don't like the folks you can move on next year.

When you find something that you think is going work for you ( size, travel, price ) Tell them about your kids and what your trying to do and if it is a BEER lease you keep looking, most leases will tell you if they are kid friendly.

Good luck and remember take your time.
