What times are you guys seeing:

1) The most deer?
2) The most MATURE Bucks?

Seems like here lately, I see very little from daylight till 9 or so. Same for the evenings, very little action after 4:30? Weird season????

My big boys show up half hour after shooting light, and an hour before bang

The rest all day long

I agree it is a weird season. Basically no activity until about 8:45 and that is spotty at best. Evening activity starts with about 10 minutes of shooting light left. Needless to say, it has caused allot of sitting and staring this year. frown

Deer are moving later in the mornings and earlier in the evenings then again after dark. I have not seen a big buck in person all season.

8AMish is when we can bank on seeing activity. Never fails, rain, sleet, shine...8AM deer will be on the fields.

I hunt in Dewitt Co. best times to get the deer moving

Morning 6:30am-8:00am

Afternoon 5:15pm-6:00pm

This season the mornings have been better for me. On a side note when the weather has been HOT the movement has been SLOOOOOOW. The day after a cold front blows through gets them moving

In Brady, I see the most activity in the morning, 6:30-8:30 and close to the same numbers in the afternoon 4:00-6:00. However, I see the biggest bucks early morning.

In east TX, it's a total crap shoot. There is never a pattern there! You may see 10 deer in one morning, and not see another one for days.

The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

Well, I was at the lease at 12:30 today. Took a quick trip during lunch to spread corn. There lots of deer about. I saw over 18 deer from camp to my hunting area. All eating the green crop we planted beside the road. All were does and yearling except for a 2 1/2 yr old 8 pt that would score about 115". He stood in the middle of the lease road while road my four wheeler to within 50 yds of him. Some of the does allowed me to approach within 20 yds.

I've always called it the 8:05 express because something always happens about 8 am when I am deer hunting or duck hunting

that was us mule deer hunting as well...if we weren't watching deer at 8am, something just wasn't right. One our fields it's always just a matter of what and how many are going to be out....same thing behind the inlaw's house year-round, 8am, deer are around the feeder, in the plot or bedded next to it under the oaks.

This year has been a little different. I am seeing the most movement after about 0815 and up until 1000 in the mornings. The evening hunts have been hit and miss -- barely any to zero movement from 2:30 on and at times as soon as I get set up I start seeing deer and they have staid in my area until after dark...makes for a long sit!
