my parents live on the williamson/burnet county line, they are flooded in and cant leave the house right now. I think they are tired of the rain a little.

That sucks for them gr! But yeah I'm loving the rain...hopefully be really good for the birds this season. Also it's nice not to have to run the sprinkler system like...ever.
Dear Lord please bullwhip me for saying this but I agree, Marcstar is in the lead. Please nobody use this as a quote!!!

the only time I turned the sprinkler system on was when we laid that pallet of sod in the backyard, other then that it has not ran at all this year.

Gr, sorry to hear about your parents! My heart goes out to all the flooded victims, but boy, TX sure did need this wet season! Hard to believe that we still have some lakes in Tx that are not full yet!

Ohellno! Green grass, full tanks & creeks, and seeing more critters of all descriptions than I have in a while. Not to mention being able to bale some hay this year.

My Daddy always used to say that the first rainless day was the beginning of the next drought. As a life-long Texan, I will never complain about TOO MUCH rain!

boat, what a funny word, especially when it is used by a guy who lives in Midland.

Talked to a friend of mine who lives "in town" at Marble Falls and said they got 18 inches night before last. WOW!! Can you imagine??? They say the Brazos is at record height also. The Trinity river looks like the Mississippi.

I think it's starting to look like the start of a great hunting season. I can't imagine what a west texas dove hunts going to look like with all this rain. Every pond full, sunflower patches galore, I can't wait. As far as the rain goes, I'd like to see us get a break for a month or two and give us a chance to dry out (just a little).

Well we still have over two months of summer left...I'm sure we'll have plenty of time to dry out a bit. Would be nice to still have a few good rains in both July and August...maybe space it out a bit.
It's been fairly mild so far this summer...normally it's pretty hot by now.

I'm not going to scare the rain gods off. Last year was enough dry weather to last a long time. Things are really lush.
This fall is looking good and the winter will probably hold huge numbers of birds and wildlife. Should be a great start for a healthy 2008 spring time wildlife population.

Buy some of those floating dove decoys...we'll need them this year!!
More rain means more charge to our Aquifers and less worry about feeding livestock and wildlife. May need to shred shooting lanes though!!
