I went out tonight. Saw a nice 8 pt right at dark. Didn't have time to look him over real good. At 8AM friend almost hit a real nice 8pt right in front of the place I hunt running along the road. Two days back bucks were still mixing it up. Rut must still be in the air in East Texas??

I'll be back on dry land and headed to my lease after I pick up my nephew Gage T. on December 7th!!! I can't wait.....I love deer hunting!!! I hope there will still be somewhat of a little rut still then, idk? I know my stand has been hunter free for about 20 days, so it should be interesting to see what shows up!!! Gonna pull a couple of all day hunts too!!!

I'm really glad to hear they are still moving. We are headed out at 3 in the morning for a one day hunt then back to work on Sunday.

Thats right, second rut. Its around 28 days later. First rut was on during Halloween. I'm seeing most does grouped up in herds and putting the feed bag on. Small bucks are wandering and looking. There bigger bucks I've seen mainly feeding. I'm still hoping a hot do may pull one in, but I'm not holding my breath.

(only majority of chasing was around the the week prior to Thanksgiving)

That's good news, plus with no moon soon it'll keep em out during the day. December 7th can't get here fast enough, lol.

I'm hoping it picks up in Harrison County. I haven't seen anything this season yet.

I didn't see a thing this weekend except for the big 9 point my dad put down yesteday morning. Apparently he was covered up in deer but elsewhere on our lease it was slow as cold molasses.
