A Hind is a female Red Deer. You'll hear them referred to as does, cows or Hinds.

I haven't had much Oryx. I am partial to Nilgai, though.

I get that "Hind" question from hunters a lot. Its just hunter slang and us hunting ranch folks forget that not everyone is familiar with that jargon!

Making another post for this but I just had two buffalo (bison) 5 year old mature cows go on hunting special for $1150 each. Guaranteed shot opportunity. Fully guided hunt and TONS of GOOD MEAT on those too! Thanks!

Do you have any Hind pics on hand? Cdola was asking. I have some but I wasn't going to put them on your thread without checking. All I have are ones we've harvested.

I understand. That's why I asked. Besides, even if I had the lack of morals that would lead me to do that on your thread, I can't touch your prices. LOL.

As luck would have it I spent some time this week with a guy that works with Red Deer. He's into selective breeding, artificial insemination and all that jazz. I took some pictures of his stock and will post some in a bit. These are not ones on my hunting ranches, but they are representative of the species.

Here are some Red Hinds:










Red Deer are beautiful animals and excellent eating. They weigh in at about 2 1/2 times the size of an Axis. Dustin's prices for these deer are a great value.

Thanks for the posts and pics. We usually say Red Hinds are about 3 times the size of a Texas Whitetail Doe if fully mature. Lots of meat. Thanks again!
