I have an old bolt action 30-30 that my dad gave me with a scope that wont hold zero. I never use it but my wife is wanting to get in to deer hunting and I really dont want to drop almost a grand on a new rifle for her not to use it. So I was just going to let her use it.

What scope would be the best for a 30-30.
Thanks for the help.

I have a 2-7x32 Bushnell Legend on my 30-30.
But it is a carry around/brush gun so I never shoot far with it. The scope is low profiled and it holds zero well.

How much are you looking to spend?

I second Korean Redneck - have the exact same scope on my Marlin 336 and it's a perfect match

I'd get a low power scope, the 2-7 would be fine. A fixed 4x would be a good choice too, given the distances she'll be shooting.

One of my all time favorite scopes is the Bushnell Banner 1.5-4 x 32 with the Circle X reticle. It just plain works...

I just put the same scope on my 30-30 but its a Trophy model. Had a Banner on the one I just traded.
