alright, so this is the deal. I convinced my mom and dad to help pay for half of a brand new bow for christmas ( Im a mommas boy lame but oh well I LOVE HER@!) and while looking at several different choices I have two that are really on top of the list...

The Bear Carnage
Mathews z7

HELP HELP! They are both amazing looking bows
If anyone has any other suggestions throw them out there Ill take a look at them

nevermind the "amazing looking" part. see if you cant test them out before you drop some coin. get what is comfortable for you.

You don't buy a bow for just it looks, Z7 hands down.

Have you shot either one, if not, you should, and you will answer your question.

I shot both when looking for my bow, I ended up with the Monster 7.0, just felt smoother. The Bear Carnage would have been my next choice, smooth shooting bow, the one I was shooting felt like it was dragging when I drew it back. Some lube might have made it better. The bow shop said they recommended new strings before getting started. For me when testing the Monster 7.0, z7, and the Carnage, the Carnage was not a better bow for the cost, but it was good. I don't think you can go wrong with either, go shoot them both and get the one that feels and fits you better. Good luck.

I'd pick the Z7 cause of all the commercials, plus all the pros said it was good... right?

Wasn't born in Texas, but I got there as fast as I could.

I was able to test them at The Outdoorsman here in San Angelo. A bit far of a drive from DFW. If you can find a place, shoot them all, I think you will be surprised how well they all preform.

If I were buying a new bow it would be the Bowtech Destroyer. Whatever you do, don't buy any bow before you shoot it. That is too much money to spend on something you have not tested out.

Any good archery shop will let you test shoot some

look into:

Alvarado Pawn
Smithfield Archery
Cinnamon Creek Ranch

all are well within a half hour drive and have excellent folks working there.

Talk with the folks at the shop, and test shoot as many as you can. You may be surprised at what you go home with, compared to what you were thinking when you walked through the door.

Go with the Mathews. But check out there other bows. All outdoor zone in sunset will let you shoot any bow he has. Shaun is a great guy and will make you a great deal. I ended up with the Monster 7.0. Liked the Z7 but felt the monster was a better fit for me.

the z7 without a question nice bow!! it didnt become mathews #1 selling bow of all time without a reason most places had a hard time keeping them in stock right before bow season! i have one an love it my fav bow by far. i had the monster it shot good but not nearly as forgiving, but it is fast real fast. the only other one i would buy would be a bowtech destroyer 340 good brace ht and fast an forgiving but try em all an see which one u like

whatever you are be a good one

They're not looking for one thing right....they're looking for one thing wrong.

I would choose the Z7 because everyone says its the best. Its real cool looking too, and it would make you look like everyone else on TV. No really, shoot as many bows as you can. Then make your decision. Almost everyone makes a great bow today and you should just choose what feels best to you and your shooting ability. Good luck with your choice...
