Right now the bucks are going to look different due to the rut. Agree. Shoulders look very undeveloped to be too mature, unless he's just ancient. Doesn't have the swollen knee joints you usually see with really old deer. I think he's a younger buck in recovery after the rut.

Nice big body but I am not seeing any scars from fighting over the years, i would say 3.5 at the most. If you think there are bigger or older then let him walk for one more year then compare photos from year to year.

That picture was taken 10/12/2010, or before the rut.
Skin looks too loose and his behind looks too big. Face doesn't look young to me either.

This pic was taken before rut. I'll probly let him walk since it seems like yall's opinions are split. I formed my opinion based on the rump, the nose (although its not as roman looking as I would think) and the kinda raggedy loose skin. But I always stay on the cautious side. wont hurt to see how he looks next year

it looks like someone stuck a 5.5 year olds rear end on a 2.5 year olds front shoulders and gave it a 7.5 year old face with 3.5 year old antlers. I have no freakin clue about this buck. Hes scruffy looking though.

Hes gotta be gettin up there. Sway back, pot belly, old face. His legs look like they don't get used as much as a young buck. I woould say choot this deer, he is past his prime.
