Not to much difference in brands. You need a little extra room in your boots but if it is really cold and you are not doing to much walking, they are feet savers. If you are walking alot, I would reccomend a good pair of insulated boots instead of heated socks. I have used both and prefer the insulated boots over the heated socks. That just my opinion. thx for the input. i do both, but have not found boots that will keep my feet warm for extended tree stand sessions when it gets below freezing.

Have you tried toe warmers? They last 4 to 6 hrs and will keep your feet roasty toasty with a pair of good boots and wool socks. If sitting long than that. Just replace them with another set. You want even fill them in your boots.

Wool socks and really good warm hat. No baseball caps, warm insulated hat. Best way to keep your feet warm is good hat.

There was a tip in Field and Stream to put cayenne pepper in your socks for a "toasty warm" hunt. I thought, "why not?". Didn't have any cayenne around so went with pizza red pepper flakes. Boys, by the time I go home, it felt like lit matches was being held to both sets of toes!

I bought some of those gel insert footwarmers for my wife and she said they worked great for her.

I would say that it was because I really didn't notice anything until late in the hunt and especially after the walk out.

I've tried a few different brands of these and while they've worked alright I seem to always have a problem with keeping the battery connection solid enough to let enough electricity flow. The battery will be hooked up and on but the element wouldn't get warm. I just wear an insulated boot with thick socks now.

Had my son try a pair of the Hot Hands insole warmers this weekend and he didn't complain about his feet being cold. It was 20 when we got in the blind. The morning before he didn't use them and he complained about his feet being cold. Bought them at Wal-Mart for about 2 bucks a pair. I haven't tried them myself but he seemed to think that they worked well.

Has anyone tried the "over boots" that Cabela's sells? You put them over your boots when you get to the blind. They have Thinsulate and sell for $40 or so.

Lectrasocks back in the early 80s were terrible.Parts of foot were hot and other parts were cold.Id like to see how much better they have gotten.

I fish more than I hunt. Last year I tried an insole called Toasty Feet. They are only activated with the warmth of your foot. With some insulted boots and thick socks, my feet did not get cold, even when it was 19 degrees on Sam Rayburn!

I actually got burned from some battery socks. There was not much room in my boots so my feet were mashed tightly in the socks and the wires burned my feet a little. Make sure you have some wiggle room!

Every pair of battery socks I've tried have sucked. I like the ones with the pocket over the toe for the hand warmer to fit in. These work great and are alot cheaper than battery socks.

My feet have always gotten cold until this year. There has been a couple morning in the low 30's. Nothing really cold yet but everyone one else on the lease has been really complaining about their feet. I've been wearing wool socks and Danner pronghorns with thinsulate. Main thing I've been doing different is bundling up better. Fleese pants, bibs, sweat shirt, jacket, stocking hat, and if needed gloves. I know overkill for 30 degrees but my feel don't get cold. I'm begining to think that cold feet is a symptom of being cold and not necessarily the part of the body that needs to be warmed up.

Try a product called Toasty Toes. Its a foot warmer that sticks to the bottom of your toes. It looks like half a panty liner but works great.
I am a fishing guide and my customers never have the right gear with them. I keep them on the boat and use them myself.
