I picked up my full body decoys on Wednesday so I had to try them out today.

Trying them out at the house:

Here is the spread:

From the water (Can you spot the dog and the layout blind?):

Daisy with the bag, a hen Can and a Greenhead. not bad for that lake, I also saw a few Pintails but they stayed out with the blackjacks.

The can came in solo early, I knew she was a can by her silhouette but did not know she was a hen because it was still dark.

Any tips on using them effectively?

Nice! I haven't hunted yet out there this year (after teal), and am surprised to see a mallard. Very cool, and good spot for the layout, too.

I love my layout blind. Nice and warm in there when its cold out. Daisy has a thick camo covered foam pad for insulation from the ground too.

Looks great, Ed.

Rusty misses Daisy but made another new friend yesterday with Quack Tracks young female, Kendall. She's a very sweet young dawg like your Ms. Daisy and an excellent retriever for less than 18 months of age. The two of them played together just like Rusty and Daisy did ... and got treated together too.

Cappy ... At my side for thirteen years, in my heart forever.

Thanks everyone, tell me how you use your full bodies. I just put them along the shore.

Nice hunt Ed! That spoonie has the smallest smile I've ever seen on one... grin

I have some full bodied dekes, too, but I don't use them much. The most bang I ever got out of them was when I set them up in the shallow water on either side of a point. I put the feeders in the water and resters behind them on the bank. I think what you did looks good. But, like you could say for a lot of questions, ask JJ. He uses them a lot and he has good hunts every now and then. nuts

What grass are you using on your blind?

It's Avery killer weed. They sell a mixed pack with three different browns. I just bought a pack of green to add on where I'm in greener areas. I haven't made the bundles yet but need to make them detachable.
