Deer will be moving all over East Texas for the next two days cause I will be in Galveston and unable to hunt.

Thanks for taking one for the team - looking forward to tomorrow evening.

I've been hunting over near Marshall and haven't seen anything moving. Seen a ton of tracks and a few scrapes but no deer...
Grab ahold of something, bite your lip, and GIVE IT HELL!!!!!

Bad hunt for me. I did not see a single animal. My wife on the other hand had several deer in everyday including one mature buck. She also saw 2 bobcats traveling together. She didn't take a shot at any.

I finally got out last Saturday evening. I went in early cause I just new they'd be movin...Wrong! It was the most quiet night so far. Nada, not even a rabbit. Birds were still. I talked with three other people who were miles away from e. The all agreed it was unusually still. What's up with that!?

We saw an entire herd of mule deer on the Tx/NM stateline 4 days ago. We thought someones cattle had gotten out until we closed the distance. We started counting and came up with the same count: 42 Down 380 around Throckmorton and further west whitetail were moving pretty solid. Especially near river forks and creeks. Look for winter wheat that is making a good stand... they will be near. High rains have moved them into shin oak out west with the acorn drop being so plentiful, but they still water at pivots and graze wheat a bit. The acorns have also drawn the hogs in. We shot a hog that was eating on some melons we laid out. Confirmed the lack of tracks we saw on that land and we didn't even try for deer there. Coyotes were plentiful and we hot barreled those suckers. Never could find the hogs again even though I tracked a group for about 2 miles and gave up. The 6 areas that we hunt that are 5-15 miles apart to be able to change with the patterns that we track. We were in 2 adjoined counties and put 1300 miles on the truck and only 3-4 hours on the side-by-side. We tried the whole blind thing the first 2 days and didn't see squat. First day I convince everyone to forget sitting in a blind, my brother nailed a good one. (Picture here) Hope this info can be applied to your situation and maybe help you spend those tags!

It's the best. She loves to hunt. I get to go at least one day a week. If she was against it I really feel like that wouldn't happen or we would have a problem. As it is she's at work right now wanting to know when we can go back. She regrets being hesitant and is ready to make a kill. The only draw back I find is she gets to sit my stand and tell me what I missed while I'm at a back up stand seeing nothing. I still get to go, and cook on the fire, and drink cold beer, and... and... and... RELAX.

Definitely pros and cons to spouses that hunt. Cappy and the missus seem like two peas in a pod in camo. I just convince myself I can spend half as much or twice as much depending on the guns I am looking to add to the rack if there is only one of us that hunts. My brother is my hunting buddy, so my wife never felt obligated to tag along. She has no negative feeling about my sport of choice, but she does cringe a little every time a new cabelas catalog shows up in the mail.
