The past couple years I have wanted to get into bow hunting. I have looked at, borrowed, and shot friends bows the past couple years. None of the bows I tried were tuned for me, draw weight or length. I have in the past shot a very old Browning bow, never hunted with it, but did enjoy shooting. I recently took over the ranch after the passing of my stepfather and would really enjoy to hunt with a bow and have bow hunters out. Now my question. Locally I can try Mathews, PSE, Bear, and Mission. To get anything else I would have to drive 90 miles or more one way. After reading and watching tons of videos on YouTube I think I want to try the Mathews z7, Monster 7, and the Bear Carnage. All bows are available to test at my local shop and I have visited with them, they seem very willing to answer all my questions and encourage the shooting of any bow I would like. I would like to get opinions on these bows and things to look for when I go in to try them out. I broke my wrist early October and am supposed to get my cast off tomorrow and will be in the bow shop Tuesday to sling a few arrows. Thanks for any input.

I will repeat what everyone says. Shoot what feels good to you. Everyone has different opinions that might not fit you. With those three, one of them will be good.

I set a price range on what I wanted to be in and shot several before deciding on a new bow....that is always the best advice. The Matthews and Hoyt were just too much for my pocket book, so ended up with a Browning Mirage. So far I am very well satisfied with its performance. Priced around $600, but fortunately, I was able to get a vendor discount while I worked at Academy, and saved considerably!

Not sure if PSE makes the Browning, but they do have a lot of similarities.

Would agree with setting a budget for any Bow you choose. Find what works wells for you...if out of your immediate price range....then save your money.

I am looking to upgrade from a 10yr old PSE.

Had a budget in mind then I went and shot some new bows.

I shot the new Matthews, Hoyt CR??, Elite Judge, and BOwtech Destroyer. Lets just say my budget went up.

All were way way better than my old bow. The Hoyt felt pretty good but I am in love with the Bowtech Destroyer.

I waited 22 years to be able to afford a GOOD bow. I bought the Mathews Z-7. Yes it's pricey but I am soooo pleased with it. I talked to the dealer about several bows and he said non would stand up to the Z-7. Especially with the smoothness of shooting. He said not even the Z-7 extreme. I love my Z-7 and am looking forward to my first bow kill with it in a couple days-----I hope. LOL

It's the time spent in God's creation with family and friends making memories that counts.
