I hunt Callahan. I think the rut is about to start judging by the activity and reactions of the deer I saw this past weekend. Even with that big fat moon we saw plenty of buck movement during the day especially in the morning. Some of them had swollen necks and others didn't but most of them were on the move with their noses to the ground. The bachelor groups that we were seeing the first couple of weekends have split up now also.

Not sure how much I will be hunting the Callahan county lease now, just found out they are drilling a well on it. Started moving in equipment in today. Land owner does not own Mineral rights so kinda stuck with a lease with a ton of activity the rest of season.

Glad to here the rut has started. As far as Baird being wet: I think it was recently passed. I know there is a new drive thru beer barn across from the DQ.
