birds were definately on the move this morning, was done with a 2 man limit by 8:00 and back at the house by 8:15. Also saw the first greenheads flying around. thats normally a good sign cause i'm as far south as most can get without going to the beach. Ended up with 2 woodies, 3 greenheads, 1 GWT and 1 BWT, 1 grey, 2 spoons, and 2 mottles.

Briley with a retrieve.

Me with Briley.

all the birds back at home.

Nice strap. I think that's the first one I've seen with mallards and mottles on the same hunt.

Must be a unique spot, congrats.

this is a unique place. this little section of land is the only area i know in this region that you can go to and consistantly see mallards. but mottles ducks, well their an everyday thing if you can get them to decoy.

its not bad at all, just takes some getting used to of playing with it without looking. the hydraulic tilt and trim is sweeeett but my wallet said we should keep the 500 bucks lol. but my first PD had manuel too so i knew what i was getting into.

Cool thanks! I figure it won't be that bad, and also was trying to save some money. I was going to get hydraulic tilt, but I realized that my boat has a tall transom so that was another $225 I had to spend for the long shaft.

what kinda terrain you gonna be running in? most of the time in open, or just shallow water you can leave the trim set at one spot and it'll run just fine. only time i really get to crankin on mine is when i get in the mud, which we have alot of around here and i gotta bury the prop in the mud to to get going.

mostly just flooded vegetation that really slowed up my outboard. Most of the stuff we try to get to is about a foot deep. I could get in with my pwr trim and jack plate on the outboard. It just took time, patience, and clearing the prop/pee hole. I'm hoping I can get there now without the headaches.

running through vegetation with a PD is like driving a truck on concrete.

this thread makes me super happy to be one of the first of Brett's many friends to take a ride and hunt in the boat this weekend with the new PD. Can't wait, I'm so giddy!!!

It looks like I'll be staying around here for Thanksgiving weekend. I'm off Thurs-Sun and can hunt Monday too(work at 3)... I'd like to go up to your area in that time and give a go 'round!

Hunter - just giving you a friendly heads up about your first pic.. i recognize the bridge, water tower and power lines. I dont know exactly where your hole is, but I definitely know which WMA you are on. You might want to take that pic down especially if you are seeing greenheads, cause I can't be the only one to recognize it.

DUaggie, yes you are correct about the bridge, powerlines and what not. but let me mind you that is private land i am on. not on the WMA sectoin. so if people want to look at my pics and try to find my hole, let them go for it. since there's 5 guys on the lease, 3 cops, one of the county GW's and me. they'll have a fun time trying to get off easy.
