Ive just recently started hunting Choke Canyon. I'm new to the area, from east texas. I was just wondering if anyone knows of any gator attacks in the area on dogs? Do yall take your dog with you or leave em at the house?

Thanks for any info.

On a really cold day you are prolly ok. I have heard of several dogs-gator alltercations on that lake. I personally would never put my dog in that lake. Water temp on that lake stays fairly high and gators only go dormant during really cold snaps their.

Talk about making a good day real bad real fast. If I saw that happen it would make me quit duck hunting

I'm probably just going to leave him at home until i get more comfortable with the lake. My girl would shoot me in the face if something happened to that dog, so i guess it's best for both of us.

Perfectly safe. Since the DU show out there and every idiot in the state posting about it on the internet, all gators have decided to move up the Frio to avoid the masses of duck hunters to be found there each day through out the season. Good luck!

I don't put my dog anywhere where there's a chance of gators. A duck is not worth my dogs life. And if that did ever happen to my dog i garuntee nobody would be able to stop me from going in after her even though it wouldn't do any good.

You have to sign in to Youtube to watch for age verification.

Arm: 0 Gator: 1

I think I'd let my shotgun do the talking.

Before you hit that lake keep this in mind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfpuVRBzQ8k

We've decided our dogs stay home when we go to gator-fested lakes. Just ain't worth it.

Definatly not recommended. That being said I've waded across ponds in chest deep water where they have drawn TPWD hunts. I feel stupid about it now.

Chuck Norris doesn't pick up ducks. They fly to HIM.

Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden.
Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.
