Ive seen a little activity this past weekend. Not seen the big boys out an about yet.... Rain showers forecasted over the next few days, should help mix it up this weekend. Big expectations this season!

Anyone else?

In the stand now. Have not seen a deer at all today.

I carry a gun because I'm too young to die, and too old to take a whoopin!

Driving out toward Poolville yesterday about 1 pm and doe ran across road. Looked over from where she crossed the road and a monster was standing at the fence. Think early stages of rut are kicking in. IMO

Haven't had much luck this year. But a buddy shot a 9 point last weekend about a mile from where I hunt. Hopefully my time will come.

Had a doe cut across the drive in. Stopped and waited, sure enough nice young 8 hot on her trail. Stopped broadside in the headlights, gave me the "don't mess up my game look". Rain clouds rolling in, going to be a good weekend! (I hope)

They were chasing a good bit last weekend at my place and from looking at my game cameras, it looks like the rut is definitely starting.

However, I was at my place from lunch to dark yesterday, mostly doing work, but did sit in the stand from 4-6pm and didn't see a thing. First time I've ever sat in that stand and not seen a deer. Likely had to do with the wind and the high temp. Didn't see anything driving around or while I was working either. Don't remember that happening this time of year in a long, long time.

I'm thinking rut will peak within the next few days.

I'm in southwestern Wise, not far from Bridgeport or Runaway Bay.

Sat from sunrise to sunset yesterday and only saw turkeys. Of course the power line workers had to show up so that
didn't help. Looked at the sd card when i got home and they were still in their groups. I'm hunting just west of Alvord.

Had three young bucks come by today with noses to the ground. However, saw 10 does total with nothing chasing them. Saw alot of chasing last weekend and have tons of pictures from earlier this week of bucks with does at the feeders.

Deer aren't coming to feeders at all during daylight. At my place, it always seems that we have a prolonged rut that never really peaks. From what I've seen the last 2-3 weeks, I think we're just about at the end of it.

There's usually a second, smaller rut around the first of December for does that didn't take the first time around.

Two of my sets overlook Denton Creek, lots of traffic through there. Busted a little yote not paying attention mid day.

Sat new spot Sat night...nothing. Corn is piled up under feeders, no traffic. Starting to hit the wheat and oats which is good.

Corn is really piling up under my feeders as well. Set them back to just spin 2 seconds each before I left this afternoon. Have only seen two does at a feeder over the course of 8 hunts so far this season.

Pictures at feeders have gone from 250 per week to 25 over the past week. Must really be hitting the acorns hard, though I hunted in a oak grove this morning and only saw two young bucks.

Spent last couple of days rattling and had a few young ones come in. Last night just before dark it finally paid off. Had this respectable buck come in on a string, so I took him home.

Congrats Dogo. That's a nice looking buck.

What part of Wise are you hunting?

Edit: Nevermind, I just scrolled up.

Nice Deer Dogo... I would be proud of that from our County.

I hear warmer weather is rolling in for the weekend... just in time to put a dampner on my hunting. I hope next week is better... I have taken nice deer Thanksgiving holidays.

I too have suffered from the abundant forage this year. Most trees did not start turning until last weekend on our place. I have a red oak in my front yard that is still green. Great year for Deer Management, not sure about hunting... smile

I hunted this morning. Saw a small buck before light and a doe in the trees right at sun-up, then..... nothing. Saw a big bodied deer as I was driving around, but it was 800 yards off and almost in the brush before I could get much of a look.

Definitely very slow in Wise right now. I'm not so sure that the rut isn't all but over at my place. Tried rattling and got nothing.

Really looking forward to some cold weather.

I rattled on Sunday and got nothing. I saw a tall and narrow 8 but the stars were still out.

I don't even plan on going this weekend.

I was going to take the weekend off myself, but got a phonecall today that changed my mind. I left my place at 11:30 after hunting this morning, but got a call around 2:30 about how many bucks were out chasing in the early afternoon.

Had thought about playing golf tomorrow, but now I'll go hunt. Can't lose any bets in the deer stand, so I may come out ahead.

I took my step son out yesterday. He shot a seven point. The buck was chasing does hard. One of my places is right outside Decatur. I may just hunt the house in the morning. Headin out to Alberta Sunday. The outfitter said its about prime time there.
