My step son and I each received a antlerless permit for Bannister WMA this year. We went on our first hunt last weekend. We were not successful but he had a great time and I believe we will be successful soon. Because it is several hours away we were not able to scout in advance except by Satellite photo and maps. Once on the ground we did not find any sign in our first location. Our second location was occupied so we move to a place we had not aerial scouted at all. We liked the overall look of the area and decided to set up that evening. We really enjoyed the area and after additional scouting we found several scrapes and rubs and a empty blind, all part of public hunting. We hope to head down there again in the future. It was a great time even without a deer. texas
