Ok. I am pissed.. About 1 1/2 weeks ago I took a nice doe in to be processed at out local place. Last Friday I received a call that the deer would be ready for pickup on Saturday. Well, I was already setup to go hunting this past weekend so I had my wife go down there today to pickup my meat. Well, She gets there and ask for my "ready" deer meat. While waiting for about 10 to 15 minutes for them to locate the meat they can't find it and inform her they are not sure what happened to it. What?? Can't find it? Sooo. What I just write it off as a loss? Lose a tag and nothing to show for it. What is that all about.. Personally, They need to figure out what they are going to do to replace my processed deer. I don't care if they go shoot one and use it.. But, it is not like I get unlimited deer tags. I am freaking pissed about this. Glad it was a doe and not some really nice buck.. but it don't matter.. meat is meat.

What is yalls thoughts and what do you think can or should be done?

bang

that does suck, but remember that mistakes do happen.

I would want some kind of retribution. Maybe a buncha beef or something??? some coupons for a cpl free deer processings.... something to show that they really do care about ur bidness and aree sorry they screwed up. good luck.

They should give you some of their other meats to make up for it. That's just not right. Like said above, mistakes happen, but they should make it right. That's between 30 and 40 pounds of meat that they just lost.

I plan on giving them a a day or so to find it.. if they can and then I will be down there looking for some kind of "free" processing or some grade A steaks smile .. I have never had them lose a deer and for the most part they are really good at what they do but still frustrating.

Yes go back down there and stay until they find your deer. That "lost deer" is a bunch of bs and you don't have to write it off or let it go. Go up there and get your deer.

I agree the meat was probably handed out
as part of a sale to someone else and so
there is no way to to get it now. I'd also
not want to take just whatever venison they
came up with (what some other hunter didn't
pickup).
Get your pound of flesh in the form of beef steaks.

ummm, hit "edit post" and rephrase your offer... (referring to the handbook first)

If I don't have time to process, I don't have time to hunt. The two go together for me.

This is why I've processed my last 3 deer myself. All it took to save me hundreds and a headache was a couple hours of manual labor.

When I was in Memphis I had a meat processor take a month to process my pig, though he said only a week. Each time I showed up and it wasn't ready, he gave me Tbones. I wished he'd never have found it/processed it.

Yep. They are human just like everyone else.

Last year my processor lost my horns. I was pissed but I did not ask for any kind of reimbursment because stuff like that is bound to happen from time to time. If it happens again then things might be different but for now I aint going to lose sleep over it.

Ask for any money back that you paid when you droped it off and just let it go. JMO.

It may all just depends on what part time help they have working there. Not always the owner. When hunting season rolls around they hire extra help and they aren't always on the ball about things. Just hope it doesn't keep happening.

Tell them you want a $75 giftcard to pigglywiggly, Davids, or HEB. It will buy you a lot of good meat that is better than your doe. Walmart's to has alot of meat. up

Thanks for the offer. But, as far as tags.. I am fine.. Just hate to lose a tag.. I am a meat hunter so a lot of times I don't shoot a buck. Which is fine with me. Meat either from doe or buck is all the same.. smile Usually. I just shoot the does. Heh.. Unless that BIG boy walks out.. This year I have my son hunting for the first time so he has tags he can fill which is normally not the case so we will be ok.. But it still makes me worry about losing another one. scared

I think they will make good in some form or fashion.. We will see Thursday..

Well i hope it all works out for you. Might not be bad for you to mention that you talk on a hunting forum, if they don't want bad press they might be more inclined to make it right. Good luck either way......
