What is meant by field dressing and /or the deer dressed out at 150 lbs.
Secondary question - How far can you process a deer at the lease if you are transporting it home? I know you can quarter it, but can you take all the meat off the bone? Is there a law concerning this?

1. All internal organs have been removed
2. You should retain the head of the deer

This is what Im confused on. I shot a deer last year and the bullet exited on the right front shoulder, little to no meat was useable. I took the shoulder anyway but I got rid of it after I got home. Do you have to legally take meat that has been blown away by a bullet?

Do you have to legally take meat that has been blown away by a bullet? No you do not! If you have lost a shoulder to bullet damage you do not have to put in in the ice chest with your good meat. I simply take the front shoulders and back quarters off, take out the straps and tenderloins, then trim all the neck meat and other available meat off the bones while the carcass is hanging so that when I get home all I have to do is bone off two shoulders and two hams. I then dress my straps and loins up and cut steaks out of them or jerky, whichever I intend to do. I then bag the boned off meat for either sausage, bucksticks, summer sausage, or ground hamburger and chili.
High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

Funny thing is the the law doesent state anything about if the meat is un useable, its just says you have to quarter the deer and take backstraps. I never seen anything thats says you have to take the meat unless its been shot and is not useable.

Edible condition: Fit for human consumption, but does not include any portion of a game bird, game animal, or fish that is bruised ("bloodshot") by a bullet, shot, or arrow; otherwise destroyed as a result of harvest; decayed or rotting; or obviously infected or diseased.
