I would check hunting regulations first, I believe mule deer season starts on 11/20 and ends on 12/5 this year in Motley County. As far as the weather it can be unpredictable, I have hunted jsut North of Matador for 6 or 7 years now and I have seen it in the single digets in the morning with 3 or 4 foot snow drifts and I have seen it in the mid 30's in the morning and get up to 60 in the afternoons. Just depends on when you are there. I would check the weather a day or two before I left and pack accordingly.
By the way welcome to the forum.

I used to hunt in Briscoe County north of Matador. Weather was pretty extreme.
Craziest day I ever saw was 11 degrees one morning with a foot of snow on the ground, but by that afternoon it was near 60 degrees.
Driving out was like trying to navigate a bowl of soup.

As mentioned above, weather in that area can be very extreme in December from freezing cold with high wind and snow, to uncomfortably warm with bright sun shine. You'll need to check the weather a day or two before hunting. Good luck.
