All of these people enter their trophies in hopes of getting 1st place, and all they get is a trophy jacket? Maybe I missed something.... confused2

The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

You gotta look closer. Specifically look at the ranches that these deer are killed on. There's about a dozen different ranches but it's the same dozen in every category for the past 10 years.

This whole contest is for bragging rights for those dozen or so ranches. The ranches are the real winners. Free advertising.

X2 Don't get me wrong but come on. High dollar, high fenced and free advertisements!? That's not for the "average" Joe but they are impressive beasts.

While I think this is partially true, I don't think it's 100%. There are alot of folks who enter with the hopes of getting their jacket from their own ranch, with home grown, non-manipulated deer. We've taken 3 jacket deer off of our family place the last four years and those jackets represent all o the hard work and patience that went into growing those trophies that we are so proud of. I do think that Los Cazadores did the right thing by separating the low fence from the high fence and "open" divisions for the reason you mention.
