Ive bow hunted in the past but no longer own a bow. Id love to be able to afford a new Mathews or Hoyt but I dont see that happening. Ive looked at Bow Techs, Martins and all the brands they all seem to be good or great but Im looking for a Bow in the 300 to 500 price range be it new or used. What in your opinion would be my best bet?

I just bought a RedHead Kronik at BassPro for $399 and am very pleased with it. It's made by Bow Tech, but has the RedHead name on it. It is the best selling bow at BassPro.

If you can spend $500 then you can easily get a good used Mathews, Hoyt, Bowtech ect for that.

I understand that I can get a used bow for 500 but if I can get a comparable bow with warranty etc than Id think that would be a better buy....

I had a RH Kronick but didn't it. Switched to the Misson U2 this year and it's been great. a guy that works at BP has a Kronick also but swapped it for a Toxic. Said it's a major upgrade for $100. Might look into it next year.

i shoot an 09 diamond iceman and love it... diamond is a sister company to bowtech, an iceman is basically a single cam admiral. bowtech and diamond both have great stuff... iceman is one of the quietest, no vibration, smoothest bows out there and very afordable...

You can find one year old bows loaded for 500-600 if you look. Much better than Bass pro or Cabelas crap they sell

I have a 2010 Ross Cardiac I'd sell cheap.
Set at 29 in D.L. & 65 D.W. I'd let it go for 300.00
Has a brand new string on it, I don't ever shoot stock strings.
350.00 if I leave the trophy taker arrow rest on it.

Pse makes many great bows in your price range, and cheaper, already rigged to hunt. I started with a PSE stinger, and it is just as deadly as the more expensive bows. I think you can get one ready to go for like 399 or so.

check out some of the bow shops, I bought a brand new hoyt that was a year old model but it was still new for $400. It wasnt the brand new trykon but it is still a great bow, didnt get the trykon cause i didnt like it he told me to try this one out and I loved it plus it was like half the price.
I would stay away from cabelas/basspro, the big name bow makers dont let them carry their bows for a reason, they normally dont know didly squat about much of anything.
go check out KC's archery there in spicewood, ive been goin there for years, that old man knows alot.

go check out KC's archery there in spicewood, ive been goin there for years, that old man knows alot. I personally have had a great exprience with Bass Pro, at least the one in Grapevine. There are a couple of exprienced bow hunters working there that have spents hours with me getting set up, and I didn't even buy one of their bows. All I bought was a rest and some arrows, and they gave me all the time in the world. They got me all tuned up and shooting great. Are Diamond, PSE, Bear, and Quest not considered big name brands? Just my 2 cents. With that said, I'm a big believer in giving the smaller local pro shops buisness, I just wanted to give the guys a BP their deserved credit.
