Although setting up a website only takes a few minutes now with, but interesting how the website was already posted and they "didn't" want any attention. Makes you wonder why they just didn't foward the images via email or post on a hunting forum already established.

I do not care if it was an 11yr old or a 111yr old. No way that pig grew up on 150 acres of an enclosed area and someone did not see it.
I love to hunt. I am so happy to be getting back into hunting. This sort of crap makes me sick. I know hogs are out of control, but you want to kill them.. HUNT them.. you don't stick them in a proverbial barrel and then execute them.
There is no sport in that... and the yahoos that think this is "hunting" can go back to the big city and hunt pigeons.
Hunting is easy..it's getting permission from your wife that is tough.

One of my best hunting spots was only 140 acre lease..... 150 acres is quite a bit of walking when your following your game.....and yes pigs are a varmint.....kill em all...

Exactly...who gives a crap if it was 150 acres or 10 acres. It's a freakin' hog not a whitetail!

I had read earlier that this hog was killed on a 2500 acre high fence operation and had no problems with that. I still have no problem with anyone killing a pig even if it was out of a 10X10 pen but to try and make it into something it isn't is the point that I don't get.

I do not care they killed the hog.. i care they make it sound like some huge ordeal... kill all the hogs you want.. to me it is just extra pork on the table.. but don't make it sound like it was anything other than a 'pig in a box' hunt.

yea.. well, I clarified as I understand the suckers have multiples at birth. I am okay with shooting however many.. what I am not okay with is having them put into a fenced in area and hunted and then act like the people went out and came across some sort of natural monster hog.
Look, it is a tough call, I understand. Until a month ago when I went looking for a place to hunt, I had zero idea there was even a hog issue.. heck.. the last time I hunted, javalenas were rare where I was at. I started seeing all the pictures of 10-20 hogs below a feeder and was amazed. I understand having to clear them out as much as possible.
What gets me is seeing people shoot them out of a cage or having someone throw a farm raised one into an area. That is like a person in Lago Vista feeding deer by hand and then capping one on a weekend. I mean.. it's like capping your dog.. heh..
But, I recognize that there are similarities and such.. so if I had to choose what really bothered me most about all of this it would be the fact they made it sound like anything other than a release of a farm pig into the wild to be hunted down.
But.. to each their own.. I think that due to people like me.. they got more fame out of this than they ever deserved.
Go get the meat.. eat your pork and let it go, I guess.

So where do you stand on the fire ant issue....annhilate them all or let them free...

Not to get too far off the subject. But I wonder what kind of fence it would take to turn a 1000lb hog, if he decided he wanted to go thru it?? He may have happend to be inside a 150 acre "pen", but I doubt if he was really contained, unless there was some pretty impressive fencing involved.

I know this is hard to believe, but you can keep a hog in a pen with 29 GA metal siding and posts on 8 ft. They can't reason, and don't have any idea about the thickness of that metal...so they think it's a rock wall, I guess. They won't attempt it. A 1000# wild hog, though...I don't know about - never seen one.
