I don't think it's fake, but they could get a little closer so we could really tell. In one picture the kids sitting a good 5 ft behind the hog. In the other's it's the same way. thats definitely a big hog, just not sure it's 1000+lbs.
Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

I viewed the interviews with the boy and the dad. Their body language does appear to show they are somewhat "fibbing", to what extent I am not sure. Kinda reminded me when I saw Jeffrey Dahmer when asked if he ate his human kills, and he stated "only some body parts"

I am not sure that was a "wild hog", I bet it was a wild hog pen raised, corn fed, growth hormones, steriods, you name it, it ate it. Then it out grew the pen and Jr had to shoot it.

The pics are deceiving...but the hog on the front-end loader is about right. It doesn't look near as large as the one in the posed shots.
I think they posed the shots away from the hog to make it appear to be larger than it really is. That's the difference between decieving and lying, which, to me, is the same thing.

I saw the same thing on ESPN last night (PTI). It's a heck of a story either way - and it does look like the people are sitting behind the beast a few feet - but hey, I do the same think with my fishin' pictures.

Every bass photo I have ever seen has the fish at arms-length...know why? It looks bigger! That's not wrong. Now, photo shopping the pic and lying about, if proven, would be wrong...

Why would anybody want to make a 10 foot, half-ton wild hog look bigger than 10 foot and 1000 + pounds?

is that any different than people raising "trophy whitetail" in a pen to "hunt"? releasing pen raised rams or exotics to hunt? he still hunted it down and killed it. DTCooper feed those hogs some protein. when they get 1100-1200lbs we will turn em loose, hunt em down and become famous!!
