Just introducing my 11 year old daughter to hunting this weekend! She is really excited and my 8 year old girl is wanting to go now. Probably be taking both during Thanksgiving! That should be fun!

My 3 year old son has been with me almost every day for the last 4 weeks that the season has been open here in North Carolina.
We haven't killed anything, but it sure is time well spent to have him out there with me.

Just got back from taking my 19 year old daughter"s 201 lbs. deer to the locker. She made an excellent shot of 140 yards. Pinned his shoulders together and went straight down. She"s been hunting with me since she was 3 years old. This afternoon I"ll be taking my 9 year old son after his second buck, and hopefully we will have the same luck as we did this morning. I get more satisfaction watching my kids get excited than if I were hunting myself.

Couldn't get my grandson this weekend, but he will be with me the week of Thanksgiving. He is turning 7 on the 26th. This will be his second time out with Papa. Last year he got wet and cold so we will be in the box blind this year. Can't wait.

my boy (6) hunted Sat am with me and we saw two does. Daughter (5) hunted with me SAt eve and we saw a little buck, a doe, and a coyote. We shot the coyote.
Both stayed up too late last night, so they missed me getting a 2nd coyote this mornin. Great weekend.
I used to love huntin. Now I love huntin with my kids (most of the time...).
I'm thankful to have this time with them. I'm a lucky feller.

My son and I just got home from the lease. That 7 hour drive is waaaaay longer on the way home. He is 11 and he got a doe and his first buck, a nice 8 point. It was a 3 year old basket rack 8 point and you would have thought he shot a new world record. It was great and well worth the drive just to see his excitement.
P.S. Could not have done it in an AR county.

Took the whole family this weekend and had the good fortune of watching my oldest son take his first deer - an 8 pointer. Don't know who was more excited Dad,Mom,or his two younger brothers.

I took my son. Technically, we met at the camp and he was in his blind and I was in mine.

Wouldnt have it any other way. I have created a monster in my son!
I have some magic beans if anyone is interested. No extra time hunting but they'll make you fart to the tune of Back In Black...

Took my 8 year old with me this weekend. It was awesome. He got to see for the first time a deer being harvested. It was at 180 yards or I would have let him take the shot. Probably a little too far for an 8 year old to take as his first deer. We are still working on his first one.

Been taking him since he was 6, now that he is 16 he's taking me. I've been lucky to be able to hunt with him and my dad for the past 10 years. We live by the motto "teach a kid to hunt and fish, and no drug dealer anywhere will ever teach them anything". Good to see so many others share this special time with their kids.

I got to hunt with my best friend. It had been 4 years since we had a chance to hunt together. Ever since he was old enough to hunt he's been with me. Unfortunatly, they grow up way to fast, he has been away at college for the past 4 years, got married over the summer, just part of becomming a good man. For all of you that have young ones, do all you can while you can, cause they are going to grow up and time alone together will become far and few between. Needless to say it was probly one of the best times in my last 4 years of hunting just being around him and rembering all of our past trips from bb guns to the big boy guns. It was perfect!! Him shooting a deer was just icing on the cake.

Had my 6 year old in my arms this morning in my pop up "Hunting Tent"! She was as quiet as a mouse for her first hunt ever ...as she fell asleep in my lap! Didn't see anything but was the best hunt I have ever been on! By Far!

Took my son (his second year to go) and niece (her first time out) youth weekend for a doe hunt up in the panhandle. Son got 2 does with great shots (1 a 264 yrd double lung shot and the other a 85 yrd heart shot) and my niece got her first deer. A very nice doe at 102 yrds with a great heart shot. Dad was there and got to enjoy the moment with her. Man am I proud of both of them. That was a great weekend that I will never forget. Spending my hunting money so they can hunt. So I can sure time in the field with them is well worth every dime. Maybe someday I can afford to go out, but I don't care as long as I can get the kids out. Also took youngest son (age 10) on his first Dove hunt this year and hoping to get him on a rabbit hunt after deer season on my BIL lease in Feb. That will be great.
If I'm not hunting something I must be dead.
