Dang, sure are alot of folks complaining about having no birds... I started this post for your input as to why so many are striking out in the first two weekends.

I think the mid-week storms pushed birds out of my areas and it's a little early to start getting new birds in. Had a good hunt on Saturday, but heck- I can't with good conscience say those were "new" birds.

Wasn't born in Texas, but I got there as fast as I could.

I am pleasantly surprised at the amount of birds in my current neck of the woods. However, the weather is perfect for fishing, not so much for ducks.

I'm not sure if they have enough food here to hang around that long...seems like they're here one day, gone the next!

From the reports here sounds like it's feast or famine.

im seeing lots of birds, the weather just not cooperating in keeping them low and shootable. had probably 100 birds fly over this am before daylight, i blame the clear skys and good visibility for this. birds that did come by, worked.

I don't see where they are getting this information because it sure aint true out here in West Texas.

I wish it would start cooling down.

I just think weather has a lot to do with why people aren't seeing birds. Not cold enough and not enough water.

That's just the way it is during dryer years. Some people really struggle but those that think outside the box or get out and scout tend to have really good luck on dry years.

I have never seen this many birds in NE Texas this early. And that is not just talking about one spot. All my leases are covered and there are lots of birds on the spots that I frequent on public too.

NE Texas seems really good this year. It took me all season long to shoot 60 birds last year. I've already shot 23 this season.

The water being low has really helped our hunting by concentrating the birds.

Scouted a local lake in preperation for the weekend on Friday. Did not see a single duck. Stayed home and did honey-dos instead. Truth is that early season is just like this sometimes around here.
